Hotel FIS – Right in the Heart of the High Tatras
Hotel FIS is located in the unique surroundings of Štrbské Pleso, right next to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the High Tatras and at the gateway to the Mlynická Valley. Thanks to its location just approximately 50 metres from hiking trails, ski slopes and cross-country skiing tracks, it is an ideal choice for anyone who wants to have the High Tatras literally at their fingertips.
Guests can choose between accommodation in the main hotel building or in separate bungalows located outside the main hotel building. The hotel offers comfortable rooms decorated in a pleasant mountain style, while the bungalows provide more privacy and closer contact with the surrounding Tatra nature. Both the rooms and bungalows have private bathrooms, and some also feature a balcony.
Wi-Fi is available in the hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel. The bungalows do not have Wi-Fi, offering an opportunity to truly disconnect from the online world and enjoy a well-deserved digital detox.
After a day in the mountains, you can enjoy well-deserved relaxation in the wellness centre, with access included in the stay forhotel guests. Facilities include an infrared sauna, steam sauna and Finnish sauna, hot tub, relaxation room and areas for wellness treatments. Selected areas of the wellness centre offer views of the iconic ski jumping hills. For active relaxation, guests can also use the fitness centre, sports hall, table tennis and billiards.
The hotel restaurant offers a selection of Slovak and international cuisine. For a relaxing coffee, drink or a well-deserved refreshment after returning from the mountains, you can visit the lobby bar.
Hotel FIS is a placesport, mountain nature and relaxation come together. In winter, guests can enjoy the proximity of ski slopes and cross-country skiing tracks, while summer brings numerous hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding area. Štrbské Pleso and its surroundings offer experiencesyear round – from active adventures to peaceful moments by the mountain lake.
The hotel was named after the International Ski Federation (FIS) and officially opened in 1970 in the presence of its then-president, Marc Hodler. To this day, it remains closely connected with sport and is one of the prominent accommodation and sports facilities in the High Tatras.
Dogs are welcome for an additional fee on designated floors of the hotel section.
Poprad-Tatry Airport is approximately a 20-minute drive away.
